How to Configure a Zebra QL420+ for Wireless Connectivity (WPA)
Thursday, August 5th, 2010The following steps outline the process of configuring a QL420+ for wireless connectivity using WEP.
- Before we configure the printer we will need to download Zebra’s Label Vista program, which is used to configure the QL420+ for wireless connectivity. Download Label Vista here: Label Vista v 3.5
- Before connecting the QL420+ to your PC be sure that the unit is powered on, and media is present in the printer. When ready, connect to PC.
- Windows should recognize a new device and install the necessary drivers.
- Once the printer is installed and Label Vista is installed, begin device configuration by going to Printer, Com Port Setup.

- Ensure the COM port is set to USB, and the USB Device selected is the QL 420+ device. Once it is set, click OK.

- Got to Printer, Network Settings

- Go to the Network tab, and configure the Network Port (6100), ESSID, and DHCP. Also configure the Request timeout and Requests per session as shown below. Click Apply, click OK.

- Go to the WPA-PSK tab and configure as shown below. Click Apply, click OK.
